The Department of Children under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection in collaboration with World Vision Ghana has organized a Community Sensitization and Awareness raising event on the dangers of Child Abuse, Child Sexual Exploitation, Forced Marriage, Teenage Pregnancy and Adolescent Reproductive Health for residents in Bethlehem, a community in the Diaso District of the Central Region.
The exercise which was held on Tuesday, 30th August, 2022 forms part of activities to commemorate this year’s National Children’s Day.
The sensitization aimed at empowering the knowledge base of community members so as to improve child protection and eliminate harmful cultural practices in the community.
It also provided adolescents with the right information, knowledge, skills and services to protect them from all forms of harm using the Community Child Protection Toolkit.
As part of the sensitization drive, parents were charged to create a conducive environment at home for children to stay and grow.
